If you are old enough to remember the televised Billy Graham Crusade for Christ, perhaps you remember the song, “It Is No Secret What God Can Do For You.” As the song states, what God has done for oth- ers, God will also do for you. That is exactly the thrust of the Bible verses above. The more God does, the more urgently and forthrightly the story is told. The point is that we are more than recipients of grace; we are also its messengers. When God works in our lives, we are moved to proclaim God’s victory.
Herein is the lesson to be learned: We can’t be an ene- my to our friends and neighbors and still be a friend of Jesus. To be a “faith friend” of God means we keep faith with others. As I said in my sermon, when we invite Jesus into our lives, be prepared to welcome his
friends! He doesn’t come alone. The people of the Bible knew it well when they said, “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf hear and the mute to speak.”
