It’s a simple commandment, yet one that demands total commitment and follow through. Though loving God and others is nothing new, it returns us to something ancient and changeless. We lean on Scripture. Our best hope is in the Word of God that remains the same. And when that Word comes alive in us, the changeless Word always works wondrous changes. Doubt becomes hope, night becomes day, and death becomes life. Loving God means obeying God, and wanting for our life what God wants for our life. We best love our neighbor when we love God, and know that God loves us.
